After hours of shopping, last minute rushing, and midnight baking our early birds were eager to see if Santa brought them their mermaids!

...we survived Christmas 2012! Hooray! Why we bothered getting them all those toys we will never know; they spent the better part of the day chasing each other with mommy & daddy's new spatulas!

Gingerbread House {gf style 'cause that's how we roll}

Our first-ever attempt at a gluten-free gingerbread house was a mass effort...

1. GF graham crackers (because mom's too lazy to make the real stuff) & GF ice cream cones
2. Two tubs of Betty Crocker icing, candy canes, marshmallows and m&m's
3. Mommy, Daddy & Grandma Smith

...and voila, a fabulous house and gigantic sugar high for the rest of the day!!

This year the girls wanted Minnie & Mickey Mouse pumpkins...so cute! Daddy carved his a few days before...

Snow White meets Sparta

The absolute best part of my night was when I came down the stairs {feeling very pregnant} and the girls each took a deep breath in and said 'mommy, you are a beautiful princess and daddy is a prince...daddy, dance with mommy'...best costume ever!

Snow {angels}

The first big snowfall of the season was greeted with snowgirls, shovels and angels. Payten has taken to eating snow while Emme almost tried licking the lamp post!!

The girls enjoyed their first concert and had a blast! How far we've come from the days of Toopi & 'BiBOO'...

A-mazing!

We celebrated Thanksgiving weekend at our favorite place in town with a few of our favorite people. A small miracle happened...all at once both of the girls are facing the camera, no one is in motion and they are each posing with their legs crossed (as if they do this every day).

Mommy and Daddy are thankful for them most of all!!

{Bring it on} Donkey Kong

The girls conquered Donkey Kong at Caleb's 4th birthday party. Payten is just excited to twirl whereas Emme is always determined to do things her way!

Late night {princesses}

Last night the girls just couldn't sleep because they wanted to play with their new favorite toys. After trying to 'sneak' out of bed, it was eleven o'clock before their eyes shut!

Princess house

Our wonderful babysitter, Shannon, gave the girls her Barbie house along with tons of toys. The girls have spent hours playing 'princesses' already! Such little girls...until Emme pulled up to the house with her hot wheels!

I'm a {mermaid}

'I'm a mermaid, mommy!' is how Payten described her artwork. My guess, a clown. Silly mommy!

Harvest {help}

The girls spent a wonderful fall day roaming the fields. While Gido was busy on the combine, the girls discussed the harvest...only a few more years and he will have himself some serious help!

We had such a fabulous time today at the Clearwater Horse Club. Looks like daddy's gonna need to save up for a pony or two!
